A group of amateur genealogist are planning a trip to Germany in 2008 and spend a week in the Giekau church area.  We hope to find out more about the local history plus meet some people that we might be related to in some way.  This is not a package tour and everyone will be on their own for the most part. If you plan on being in Germany during this time and you would like to join us feel free to do so. We will be researching all areas of S/H but our main interest will be the Giekau area and it's neighbors.

Here is a list of most of the Towns, Villages and places that have names that can be found in the
Giekau Church District.

ANSWER:  A "GEEK COW" OF COURSE.  That is also the way you pronounce Giekau.
